Introduction to Islam (Review)

| Sunday, July 31, 2011 | 0 comments

Click to full review You want to know about Islam? but you hate reading a "scholarly book"? So, this book is perfect for you. It's laid out as an undergrad textbook, with the sort of logic we westerners expect to see when being introduced to something. The chapters each have an over-view, then break into well-defined sections. If there are four important things about something, Denny gives four section headings. He also reviews information, where needed.  The best thing about the text is Denny's strategy of leaving many words in Arabic (after he has explained the terms); that means you won't learn about an idea under a name specific this translator. Sometimes there's a longish space between iterations of a term - 50 pages, for example - but the excellent glossary and the very thorough index make it possible to recover the information easily.
Denny does a great job of explaining what can be a very complex topic. I used this as a textbook for a history course, but it is still very readable for personal enjoyment. It is clear that Denny is very passionate about his work. Although the book is not a chronological history of Islam, the knowledge gained from it is useful when trying to understand that type of study....

No doubt, many people hate Islam because Islam is related to a terrorism. According to the Time Magazine, on an article which came on the April 16th 1979, it said that more than 60,000 books have been written against Islam in a span of 150 years from 1800 to 1950. Five Pillars of Islam

| Monday, July 25, 2011 | 0 comments

STUDY ISLAM - As a Muslim we should know our religion very well. Due to Islam one can achieve the ultimate happiness. An happiness will not be obsolete by the time and will never be lost wherever we are. An happiness is very expensive which can not be measured by any of the material world. Because the ultimate happiness is lies in the heart. Therefore it is proper for us to study Islam.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) gave us an understanding of Islam, when the angel Jibril or Gabriel asked him:
"O Muhammad! Tell me about Islam?" Then he replied, "Islam is You testifying that no God has the right to be worshiped but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, then you establish prayer, and then you practice regular charity, then you fasting in month of Ramadhan, then you Hajj, if you can afford." Then, when he again asked by the angel Gabriel, "O Muhammad! Tell me about the Faith?" Then he answered, "You believe in Allah, believe His Angels, believe His Books, believe His Messengers, believe the final day and you believe in God's destiny, good and bad."
(Narrated by Muslim)

Study Islam About God

| Sunday, July 24, 2011 | 0 comments

STUDY ISLAM - After knowing the existence of god, as previously described here, knowing God is the following smart step towards the true faith. How do I know God? How to know God is by studying His Words that has been revealed to the beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), namely the Holy Qur'an or Al-Qur'anul Karim.

With a firm and clear, Al Qur'an describes the actual descriptions of the god, that is found in surah al-Ikhlas chapter 112 verses 1-4, which says:
1. say: He is Allah, the one and Only;
2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3. He begets not, nor was He begotten;
4. And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.
[Q.S al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]
This is a 4-line definition of Allah SWT, Almighty God given in the Qur'an. If any person says so and so candidate is God, if that candidate fits in this 4-line definition, Muslims have got no objection in accepting that candidate as God.

Study Existence of God

| Saturday, July 23, 2011 | 0 comments

STUDY ISLAM - Humans have a nature to be difficult to believe something they had never seen or encountered them yet. That is why many people that put forward their minds (atheists), it is difficult to accept the existence of God in their lives. To explain this, first we must emphasize that "something that is not visible, does not mean that things does not exist". For example, if reasonable minds could not reach the essence than the soul, then it does not mean that the soul does not exist. Minds that can not explain the nature of light, does not mean that the light does not exist. It was clear that there is light and evenly throughout the universe. Also, if reasonable minds could not reach the nature of the atom, it is not proved that atoms were not there, while the atom is the smallest that can be collected into an object.
